*Canoeing at the mangrove forest

Mangrove canoeing tour by Low Key Amami.

Explore the second largest mangrove forest in Japan by canoeing. Best in high tide when more of the smaller off shoots of the river are accessible. Canoe rental fee is included.

 

*Hiking at Kinsakubaru forest

Hiking at Kinsakubaru in Amami Ōshima.

Go exploring the Amamiian primeval forest for the simbolic “flying spider monkey tree ferns” and the unique subtropical plants. Best in winter-spring when less crowd and more seasonal flowers.

Dorozome (mud dyeing) experience in Amami Ōshima.

Experience the 1300 year old Dorozome (mud dyeing) technique for Oshima Tsumugi, the traditional silk garment of Amami Oshima. BYO whatever you want to dye, or a plain Tee for ¥1.300 add. Best in rainy days and for your unique souvenir!!
